quit smoking

SERVICES OFFERED BY CT QUITLINE (1-800-QUIT-NOW)

The CT Quitline is a toll free telephone tobacco use cessation support and information program that is available to all CT residents free of charge.  The services include information, cessation counseling and support in the form of one-call or multi-call programs, and referrals to local cessation programs. Services are provided in most languages.

The Quitline is also offering(while supplies last) Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patch, gum or lozenge) when medically appropriate to callers at no cost who enter the multi-call program. The quantity of NRT provided depends on the individual's insurance status.

To access services, either supply the Quitline number to a client for them to call, or complete the fax referral and fax it to the Quitline.  Once the Quitline receives the fax, staff at the Quitline will make the first contact to the client to answer questions and enroll them into the program. If using the referral form, please get the client's permission and signature on the form before faxing to the Quitline.

Funding for the CT Quitline is provided by the CT Department of Public Health through both state and federal funding sources.

For questions about the CT Quitline and services provided, please contact kathryn.shuttleworth@ct.gov or call 860-509-8251.
