Welcome to RNP

History and Services Provided

Regional Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency.  RNP has just celebrated its 35th year of service to the Greater Bridgeport Community. The agency mission is to serve the economically disadvantaged and afflicted person by using a variety of individualized and diversified approaches to client care.  Within Regional Network of Programs are a number of programs in the City of Bridgeport as well as a few surrounding towns. RNP provides numerous housing opportunities and residential supports to individuals with disabilities who are living at or below federal poverty guidelines. Prospect House Shelter is the only single, adult shelter in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The shelter offers thirty-two emergency beds to people who are homeless.  Prospect House also provides community based case management and rental subsidies for six individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS.  Prospect House also collaborates with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) in providing emergency and transitional housing to people living with both psychiatric and substance use disorders in the Urban Model Program. All of these programs offer intense, residential case management and support services to people living at or below federal poverty guidelines.  All Prospect House programs provide 24 hour on-call services.

RNP also manages two residential homes which provide residential rehabilitation services to individuals living with severe and prolonged psychiatric disorders.  In addition, RNP provides comprehensive case management services and support to thirty-six men and women living with substance abuse and psychiatric disorders in the Supervised Apartment Program.  In a true continuum of care, RNP provides various levels of substance abuse care, including outpatient and inpatient treatment. The intensive outpatient program and the therapeutic residential program are offered to low and moderate income adults struggling with the many complex problems related to chemical dependency. RNP also operates a licensed Mental Health Clinic.

RNP also provides Methadone Maintenance in both Bridgeport and Stratford as well as ambulatory detox in Bridgeport. Each program offers pre and post HIV test counseling and confidential testing to all individuals served within these programs.  In addition to individual counseling, the clinics provide comprehensive group services as well as newly implemented outreach services.  RNP begins providing Buprenorphine as a medication assisted treatment option for opioid abuse and dependence last November 2007.  To more accurately reflect this addition of care, the programs are referred to as RNP’s Medication Assisted Treatment Division.

Each program within RNP is comprised of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.  RNP employs a medical staff of a Medical Director, three additional doctors, nurses,  physician’s assistants and a newly hired Chief Clinical Officer.
